The organization works through 30 local offices in urban sites, and a national rural program which operates in 34 states. LISC assists its local partners with the development of affordable multi-family and senior and other supportive rental housing, for-sale housing and homeownership initiatives, commercial and retail developments, community facilities and various community-building programs such as employment, child care, health care and open space. Please see for additional information about LISC and its national and local programs. A core function of LISC is its operation as a loan fund. LISC provides various loan products to a wide array of project types. All proposed loans come through LISCs Lending Department for review and approval. The loan portfolio at year-end 2012 stood at $135 million. In 2012, LISC approved $94 million of new loan commitments. LISC is looking to grow its lending volume in the years ahead. Position LISC is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. The Vice President and Chief Credit Officer will be a member of LISCs Lending Department, and will report to LISCs Senior Vice President for Lending. The primary duties of the position include: Leading Credit Committee LISCs internal loan approval body. Credit Committee meets every two weeks. Mastering a thorough understanding of LISCs loan products, national underwriting standards, and lending approach. Working closely with LISC loan officers to expand LISCs lending and grow the size of LISCs loan portfolio by: ? Providing weekly review and feedback to loan officers on brief written summaries of prospective loans. ? Fielding questions from, and providing technical assistance and guidance to, loan officers at LISC prior to their formal submission of loan proposals for approval. ? Helping to shape and screen the pipeline of LISCs potential loans, working closely with loan officers to explore underwriting issues, and bringing a creative yet disciplined approach to risk mitigation and recommendations for funding conditions. ? Working actively with loan officers and the legal department to address credit issues arising after Credit Committee approval of a loan proposal. Supporting LISC programs, loan officers, and the SVP for Lending in forming new loan products and loan funds (i.e., national or local capital pools) and exploring new lending channels. Providing support to meetings of the Program Review and Evaluation Committee of the National Board of Directors, including helping to set the meeting agenda, participating in discussions, overseeing quarterly program activity and portfolio indicator reports, and composing a brief credit risk profile of each loan request. Qualifications Applicants should have the following qualifications: Minimum ten years real estate lending or credit review experience at a bank or CDFI Loan Fund or similar institution, or five years of senior credit review experience. Strong capacity, based on experience and demonstrated successes, in analyzing the credit strengths and weaknesses of proposals to provide primarily short term financing to most or all of the following types of projects: ? rental and for-sale housing projects, charter public schools, community health centers, commercial/retail projects, and other economic development projects. Well honed ability to analyze sponsor financial statements and cash flow projections, project development budgets, and project operating pro formas. Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with numerous LISC field offices across the country. Excellent attention to detail. Strong written and oral communication skills. Good organizational abilities and ability to work independently. A keen intellect combined with a good sense of humor, and solid personal integrity.
