Responsibilities: After orientation and training and under general supervision and following established practices, performs entry-level professional engineering assignments to define rocket propulsion system architecture and objectives.

30% - Applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to support rocket propulsion preliminary sizing analysis and transient/steady state analysis for rocket propulsion systems using simulation software tools including Matlab/Simulink and custom software applications. Assists in selecting concept baselines that optimize cost/benefit trades. Works with team to develop control system algorithms, sensors, and assess system fault tolerance.

30% - Participates in developing rocket propulsion hardware and software requirements, including involvement in derivation of internal requirements, requirements allocation, and compliance management. Participates in development of verification plans using customer requirements and contract statement of work (SOW). Supports propulsion systems development tests and verification testing through solid rocket motor test setup, conduct, and data reduction.

30% - Coordinate activities associated with design, manufacturing, and test of rocket propulsion elements. Accomplish goals using MS Project schedules, logic flow diagrams, communication skills via written and verbal documentation, and team leadership skills.

10% - Document work in reports and presentations, and presents results to engineering team. Reviews work of peers. Must be able to participates on Integrated Product Teams in a colaborative environment.

Requirements: Language(s): English
Other Requirements: Bachelor´s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or appropriate discipline/science (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Advanced degree preferred. Coursework in propulsion systems and linear/digital controls required. Rocket propulsion industry technical experience preferred. Experience with Matlab/Simulink desired. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
